The local Business Improvement District (BID) is launching the new light festival today, 13th February.
They said the city centre will be transformed into a "captivating trail of discovery" which is accessible to all.
Running until Saturday 15th February, Love Light Norwich will celebrate art and innovation with the theme of love and belonging through a trail of light and fire artworks, installations and performances.
Organisers says the event will generate pride across the city, while attracting visitors and residents to see how "mesmerising" the city can be at night.
The city's market will also be extending their opening hours to 9pm for the first night.

The Executive Director of Norwich BID, previously said: "We believe that arts and culture play a critical role in shaping and promoting Norwich nationally and internationally, as an exciting and welcoming destination for residents and visitors alike.
"As shopping habits and lifestyles are changing, the need to innovate has never been greater. This is why we're investing to help create Love Light Norwich - a bright new festival to launch during Valentine's Weekend 2020.
"The festival will enliven the city and will and kick start a vibrant year of events in Norwich."
Norwich Castle will be lit up by the Lovebirds projection by Illuminos, meanwhile the cathedral will be transformed inside and out with colour thanks to Lighting Up Love by Projection Teknik.

In total there will be 18 pieces of artwork and installations found across the city centre throughout the festival.
The main entertainment comes on Valentine's Day at 6pm, where an illuminated parade will take to the streets from the cathedral to The Forum.
