A man has been arrested after a fail-to-stop collision between a black VW Passat and pedestrian which took place in Norwich last Friday.
The incident took place on Edwards Street at about 5.10pm on the 5th of April, just opposite the entrance to Epic Studios.
The collision left the casualty, a woman in her 70s, with serious injuries and she was taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
Whilst the driver of the vehicle did initially stop, he later left the scene. A 30 year old man was then arrested that evening on suspicion of causing serious injuries by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of the accident and driving under the influence of drugs. Enquiries continue, but the man has been released under investigation.
Police are now looking to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or motorists who may have dash cam footage of the incident and have not yet spoken to the police.
If anyone has information, they should contact PC Hardingham at the Roads Armed Policing Team in Wymondham on 101.
