Proudest sporting moment?
Being in the San Siro stadium in Italy watching Norwich City play Inter Milan in the UEFA Cup. With several players unavailable, we lost 1-0 to the best team in Europe. The fans were still cheering and singing 30minutes after the final whistle.
Worst sporting memory?
When my knee packed up 14miles into the London Marathon in 2004. I'd trained for six months but picked up an injury on the day and couldn't finish. I still have problems with it now.
What sports do you play yourself?
Nowadays, just the occasional round of golf. And darts.
Who's the most famous sports star you have met?
I interviewed David Gower at his house in Hampshire.
Ultimate sporting fantasy?
Like most men my age - smashing in a 30-yard volley to win the World Cup for England in 4 year's time!
